This is why they are the people

Finally an explanation as to why they 'arra peepel'. A post on 15.02.11 at 22.43 called 'We are the people' explains it all -

*Iv'e had to educate tims on why we sing this,do u know that some of them still
 don't know why we sing this,they dismiss it as just another song and dont'
 "get it " .
 It's time they ALL understood why we are the people,it's our city,it rankles with
 me that Celtic seem to be portrayed as the Glasgow/Irish Celtic ...when they have
 fuck all to do with Glasgow,we are Glasgow Rangers ...they need to drop the
 Glasgow part of their name...they don't fu cking belong here,they say theres 2
 huge teams that represent Glasgow in football,i assure you there is only one...
 Wouldnt it be nice if we started singing " I belong to Glasgow " during games, i
 know we have fans from all over but itd be a lovely little " fuck you " to them


Ahhhh so that's it. To be honest it's only one of many an explanation we have heard throughout the years as to why they 'arra peepel'. Only one other comment in this threat worth mentioning -

*If only we had a song that somehow reminded them that they are unwanted
 here and that we would very much appreciate it if they returned well...erm...
 'home' for want of a better word

Controversial to say the least. You aren't allowed to say things like that Billy. Don't think you can get away with it because you're one of 'ra peepel'.

We decided to compile a list of things that they are 'ra peepel' of -

They are the people who would rather talk about ways to wind up Celtic than think of ways to save their club.
They are the people who can wreck a city centre when their team is defeated.
They are the people who week in week out can't sing songs that only involve their club.
They are the people who have cheated tax payers of the UK for years.
They are the people who think having the British army march on their pitch at half time makes them better than everyone else.
